Editor training should focus on work the team will actually do after handover. Use real content and ask participants to complete tasks themselves. Watching a developer change a page is different from knowing how to make the same change safely a week later.
A practical approach
Explain both the workflow and the boundaries. Editors should know what they can change, what needs approval and when to ask for technical help. Keep short instructions for frequent tasks and provide a practice environment where available.
Your checklist
- Practise creating, previewing and updating content.
- Show how to correct a mistaken change.
- Explain image preparation and required content fields.
For example
For a resource library, training might cover adding a document, updating its title and checking the download link. That exercise is more valuable than touring every setting in the administration interface.
